FSBO Help FAQ

FSBO FAQ

As a Real Estate Agent one of the things I am committed to is helping people buy and sell Real Estate.  One of the things I do on a regular basis is help people sell their properties on their own.  What can I do to help you?  What does it cost?  Why would I do this?  Read on and find out!

1)      How can you help me sell my house on my own?

There are several things I can do to assist you.  For example:
-I can add your listing with pictures to my website.
-I can help you determine a fair market asking price.
-I can preview your property and offer tips on increasing curb appeal.
-I can help you prepare marketing materials including digital photos, CDs, and flyers.
-If you are willing to pay a Buyer’s Agent commission, I can bring qualified Buyer’s to tour your property and maybe even bring you an offer.

2)      How much does it cost?

Zero.  Still with me?  I do not charge anything for the above services except for the Buyer’s Agent commission part which many times can be structured into the contract so it still does not cost you, The Seller, anything.

3)      What is the catch?  What do you get in return for all of this help?

No catch.  Many people who attempt to FSBO do so with the understanding that they will try to do it for a period of time and then if they are not successful, they will list their property with a Realtor.  All I ask in return for any help that I may provide is that if you do, down the road, decide to list the property that I am one of the Realtors you interview.  That is it.  No obligation or pressure at all, and if after the interview you decide to list with someone else, well that is your decision and I would respect it.  (Ask me about my FSBO Advertising Reimbursement Program!)

And if you do sell the property on your own, I will be the first to congratulate you, but perhaps in the future you will know someone else who might not have the savvy or the time to do it on their own and you will remember me and refer me to them.  Or perhaps you or someone you know will be thinking about buying a property and hopefully you will think of me then as well.

4)      What is your FSBO Advertising Reimbursement Program?

I am glad you asked!  If you do decide to list your property with me, you may be eligible for reimbursement for advertising costs you incurred while you were a FSBO.

5)      Why do you do this?

Because it makes good business sense for me.  About 90% of my business is based on referrals, and anything that I can do to build my personal network and sphere of influence has to help my business.  I am in this for the long haul and any positive seeds that I can lay in the ground now, I know will pay off in dividends in the future.
